Hi, I’m Hazel.
When I was a young mum I was out shopping with my children. I bought some sweets from an old fashioned sweet shop. Two steps out of the door my son choked on a boiled sweet.
In common with most young parents I had no training and acted on instinct and started hitting him on the back. Pure luck! It worked.
I’ve always had an interest in the workings of the human body and how it works so when I was offered the chance to fill a spare place on a first Aid course I jumped at it. I loved it. Then I went on to do some voluntary First Aid.
A few years later I noticed an advert for a first Aid trainer by a local company. I applied and was asked to go and have a chat.The following week I was on a course with them making sure my skills and knowledge were up to date.
The following week I was delivering the course to a group of delegates in a venue miles from a manager with no backup, sink or swim.
This led to five years working for them which was very enjoyable but I felt I wanted to offer a more personalised service.
I firmly believe everyone should have First Aid knowledge; its a life skill as important as reading and writing. Therefore as well as business to business I also offer training for community or parent groups or can come and do a house party plan training for you.
